Frequently Asked Questions
Everything people ask about how Hood Catalyst works.
What is Hood Catalyst?+
Hood Catalyst is an ecosystem intelligence platform that discovers and explains meaningful catalysts — the events that actually move an ecosystem — across Robinhood Chain and Base. It reads like a terminal: what happened, why it matters, how important it is, and what caused it.
Is Hood Catalyst a trading platform?+
No. Hood Catalyst is a discovery and intelligence platform. You cannot buy, sell, or trade anything here. It surfaces and explains ecosystem changes — it does not execute or facilitate transactions.
Does Hood Catalyst give financial advice?+
No. Nothing on Hood Catalyst is financial advice, a recommendation, or a guarantee. It is an informational tool for research and discovery only. Always do your own research.
What is a catalyst?+
A catalyst is a single meaningful ecosystem change — a release, launch, integration, funding round, governance vote, or liquidity move — merged from every monitor that reported it into one record with a score, confidence, timeline and evidence.
What is Catalyst Score?+
A transparent 0–100 rating of how significant a catalyst is. It is a weighted sum of the real signals behind the event, plus recency. Every point traces to a named signal with a written reason — you can always see why a score is what it is.
What does confidence mean?+
Confidence measures how strongly the evidence supports a catalyst being real and singular — Very High, High, Medium or Low. More independent corroboration and stronger, more recent signals raise it; a lone, weak signal lowers it automatically.
Why do some categories have fewer results?+
Because the data is real. If an ecosystem genuinely has few gaming or wallet tokens right now, that category will show fewer results rather than being padded with unrelated or fabricated entries.
Why does Robinhood Chain sometimes have less data than Base?+
Robinhood Chain is a newer ecosystem, so at times there is simply less on-chain and market data available than on Base. Hood Catalyst shows only the real available data and never fabricates Robinhood Chain entries to fill space.
Are the data sources real?+
Yes. Every catalyst, token, pool and market figure is derived from live public data. If a monitor is temporarily unavailable, it is shown as an error state — never quietly replaced with fake data.
Does Hood Catalyst use fake data?+
No. There is no fabricated data anywhere. When something is unavailable, the platform says so honestly instead of inventing results.
How often does data update?+
Monitors run continuously and the platform refreshes its snapshot on a short interval, so the feed and rankings stay close to real time. Each status badge shows when it was last updated.
What is Token Intelligence?+
The per-token view: a token's catalyst score, executive summary, market metrics, risk, liquidity, top pools, related catalysts and builders, and the source evidence behind it — everything about one asset in one place.
What is Liquidity Intelligence?+
On-chain pool analysis — pools ranked by liquidity, 24h volume, growth and transaction activity. It is supporting data for tokens, prioritized to Robinhood Chain with Base as a fallback.
What is Market Pulse?+
Market Pulse is the market-activity monitor. It flags abnormal trading volume and turnover on watched assets — a signal of attention or repricing. It is not a price tracker and makes no price predictions.
What is Signal Engine?+
Signal Engine is the developer-side monitor. It watches releases and building activity across core ecosystem repositories, so development-driven catalysts surface early — often before markets react.
Can I search by token?+
Yes. Search matches titles, descriptions, tokens, protocols, builders, categories and narratives, and every token is clickable through to its full Token Intelligence page.
Can I filter by ecosystem?+
Yes. Switch between All, Robinhood Chain and Base anywhere. Every page respects the selection, and Robinhood Chain and Base data are never mixed.
Does Hood Catalyst support memecoins?+
Yes — there is a dedicated Memecoin category, scoped cleanly per ecosystem so Robinhood Chain and Base memecoins are never mixed together.
Does Hood Catalyst support Base tokens?+
Yes. Base is a fully supported ecosystem, with its own tokens, pools, catalysts and rankings, scoped cleanly to Base.
Does Hood Catalyst support Robinhood Chain tokens?+
Yes, and Robinhood Chain is prioritized throughout. Where real Robinhood Chain data exists it is shown first; where it is limited, only the genuine available data is displayed.
Will more ecosystems be added?+
The platform is built around a shared model and a common monitor contract, so additional ecosystems can be added over time without changing how catalysts, tokens and scores work.
How are catalysts from different sources combined?+
When several monitors describe the same event, they are merged into one catalyst — at most one per source — anchored on a shared protocol, asset or strong title match within a time window, with a confidence tier explaining the merge.
